Job Duties & Responsibilities
Technical
Installation and deployment of Physical and Virtual Servers.
Installation and Configuration of Server Operating System AIX, Linux ( RHEL, Oracle Linux, Ubuntu, SUSE, CentOS ), Windows ( 2008-2016 )
Administration of Servers like User Creation, Security Management, Space Management, Patch Management, resource management, Capacity management, fix pack management
Installation, configuration of SAN/NAS Storage, SAN Switches and SAN/NAS connectivity with Servers.
Storage Administration tasks such as Pool Creation, RAID Configuration, Lun/volume creation, lun presentation, capacity management, replication, Snapshot, clone, Storage FW Upgrade
SAN management: Zone creation, host creation, zone isolation, host presentation
NAS management: CIFS/NFS Share creation, quota management, management of NAS share on Servers
Proactively manage and maintain server, trouble shooting issues related to server/storage/OS/SAN
Install and Implement Backup device, Backup Software.
Monitoring of Backup activity, restoration of Backup Perform and test routine system backups and restores.
Installation and Implementation of Virtual Hypervisor like VMware, Hyper V, Citrix Xen and Linux Xen Virtualization
Management of Cluster like HACMP, Red hat Cluster, Hyper V Cluster, VMware HA
Configuration, Oracle Virtual Manager
Implement and Management of Services like FTP, DHCP, DNS, LDAP, Mail, Multipath, Firewall etc.
Implement and Management of Microsoft Active Directory.
Implementation security of the server infrastructure by implementing industry best-practices regarding privacy, security, and regulatory compliance as per
Support Datacenter Management (FMS) activities like Colling, UPS, Diesel Generator, BMS, CCTV, Fire/Smoke detectors etc.
Management/Deployment of Systems in Cloud environment like AWS, Azure, Google etc
Management of Networking/Firewall to Servers/Storage/OS and Backup
Operational
Work with Network Team, Security team, Basis Team, Application team, Functional team for various projects, roll outs
Implement project plans, risk assessments and contingency plans as per Management direction
Define and document best practices and support procedures as per management guidelines
Provide after-hours support for Infrastructure related emergencies as well occasional weekend maintenance
Maintain inventory and asset configuration documentation, KB Documents, SOPs, HLD, LLD
Carry out special tasks at Management\'s direction
Anticipate, mitigate, identify, troubleshoot, and correct hardware and software issues on servers, and workstations. Escalate incidents as necessary.
Interact with customers and staff at the technical level, as required.
Recommend, schedule, and perform software and hardware upgrades, patches and reconfigurations.
Develop required reports in response to business user and management needs.
Co-ordinate with vendors, outsourcers, and contractors to secure software products and services
Candidate Requirements:
Bachelor?s /Master?s degree/BE/ME (Computer Science or related area) preferred.
Processing Certificate in Storage, Operating System (Redhat/AIX/Windows), Cloud (AWS/Azure), and Virtualization (Citrix/VmWare) is an added advantage.
Should be ready to relocate to plant if required
Should be ready to travel to company\'s plant locations for project purpose.
Strong communication and documentation skills
Flexible and able to adapt to a rapidly changing environment
Must be organized and have the ability to manage projects of varying length
Positive, self-motivated individual who can complete tasks independently
